Hello, My setup goes like this i have a SD Tube T.V with component inputs in the back of it, and i also have the 2009 Yamaha RX-V565. I was wondering if you can run HDMI through it and have it down converted to either composite video or component. I am only concerned if the picture will work i already have the audio set up.

Thanks for the help.

HDMI can't be converted back to analog signal due to HDCP (copyright) restrictions on any equipment. If you have DVD player or dvr just stick to component cables - you won't loose any quality.

no down converting. If you wish to cross inputs types you need a high end matrix, which will cost about 1k and up.

No, both composite, component and s-video and VGA are all analog signals and in most cases you can't down convert hdmi to analog.
Exception are expensive converters like this one http://vgatohdmi.com/hdfury2.aspx or it's newer version - http://sewelldirect.com/HDFury3-HDMI-to-VGA-and-Component-RGB-Converter.asp
