Hey guys ,

I bought Dual 5 1/4 inch 100 Watt Indoor/Outdoor Speakers recently and i've been wondering as to how i should set it up with my laptop. This is the speaker that i have bought listed in amazon
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00081NX5U/ref=s9_simz_gw_s0_p23_i1?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-1&pf_rd_r=075F5Z5E0HJ0P2F414C4&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=470938131&pf_rd_i=507846

I've also posted a few pics of the speaker and also the connection pin available . I intend to connect this to my laptop . Do i need an amplifier to connect this to my laptop ? Or will it be sufficient if i find a cable that has a 3.5 mm jack at one end and red / black cables at the other ?

Pardon my ignorance . I'm new to this. I've not been using it for a couple of months now since i bought it . Please help me out

Thanks in advance

Hi. Yes, you'll need an amplifier for those. A receiver would work great if you have one available.

could you please suggest something , that's not too heavy on the budget but also does the job ?

Define your budget. Or, check garage sales, pawn shops, Good Will, and the like for used receivers/amplifiers.

Then concentrate on the second sentence in my previous post.
