I noticed that this is one more feature left off the RZ-9, it may not be a big deal, but if Denon debuts a hot new receiver with PLIIx, they would have trumped Yamaha again.

Also hate to say this but DTS' NEO:6 sounds better than the current PL II and already derives 6.1 from 2 channel sources.  Not to forget but Neo 6 was out almost a year before PL II.

<font color='#000000'>That may be true but apparently PLIIx produces different sounds (though not necessarily discrete), from both rear sorrounds. I'm not sure if DTS Neo 6 accomplishes the same.</font>
