Looking at adding pioneer elite atmos bookshelf speakers and running only those for atmos with my system asking for some feedback if it is worthwhile or height speakers are needed in back as well.

Thanks

Absloutly get four for the “immersive” experience. How big is your room? That will play a factor in it too.

I was thinking about getting 4 klipsch atmos speakers but between the extra 4 channels of amplification & the speakers I’m looking at at $1300 upgrade for atmos. + the movie selection is some what limited for atmos right now but if you can afford it go for it.

Room is about 14.5 x22 long.
Same room is downstairs in basement with a pool table. Downstairs i could do easily front and back height but up here back height will be a bitch running wires.
I was think front height upstairs and both down.
Tho it sounds expensive.

That’s a good size room size to run the atmos system in. Also consider some other options as well: in celing speakers, upfiring speakers, all walled mounted. - check out the Dolby website for more info on placement depending on what speakers you get. If I recall correctly they recommended using 4 upfireing speakers for a 5.1 & 6 for a 7.1.
