...do things like this? (2 photos) I had to laugh. I just noticed this an hour ago.

This is my left bi-pole surround speaker. It would be one thing if she simply blocked the rear firing drivers, but nooooo. The angel just HAD to be draped over the entire face. And to think I actually went out of my way to hang them on the walls. :(

How about the three little cute xmas figurines on the sub? Can't wait to get out WOTW DTS.

Ok, that's funny.

My wife has done similar things but you got me beat! :)

I guess you'll have to wait till after Christmas before you can enjoy your surround sound again? ;)

Delicate issue for sure.

Just remember: A happy wife is a happy home!

Good Luck

That is funny. However, sorry Buck. I could not stand for that.
Even being Christmas, she knows what you hobbies are - and should have some respect for your equipment.
I am assuming you respect her hobbies, she also should know - that once the sub is fired up - then her hobby will be destroyed.

Oh, I know, Happy Wife - Happy Home.

I actually have my Dory and Nemo stuffed (play action figures:eek: ) on one of my subs now.
But they are not breakables.
And I respect my breakables enough, to not put anything breakable on it.

Now, the surround speaker (only for Christmas) I can see. But not on the sub...

EDIT:: BTW, what did she say when - she saw you take the picture?
Not, 'oh your going to show all your audio nuts:eek:'

Notice how bold and brave is the talk of Brian!

Notice how single is Brian! ;)

Talk is cheap Brian. Just wait till you're up against a formidable foe, such as a {{{{wife}}}}. LOL.

I am laughing my a** off. My wife used to do similar things at our old house where we had to share the living room. Now I have a dedicated HT room downstairs and I am god when it comes to that room (and only that room). I still get sighs of disapproval and the likes, but I have the final word.

Oh, I was, what is considered common law marriage (whatever that means)
I had a live-in wife for 5 years. And by no means would I stand for that.
My mother has been married 30 years - and would not do that to my stepfather.
She understands the time, effort, value, etc.. that is put into the one main thing an audioholic enjoys.

And he is not even an audioholic.:D

EDIT:: No disrespect Todd.

She didn't see me snap the photo. She was in bed already. Last year she draped it over my center channel. It's kind of a joke to me, but geesh, you think she'd use some common sense.

Here's the other speaker. It's a wonder I have surround at all.

I don't put up with crap from my wife!:D
I just stomp my foot and say yes dear. I'm going on 30 years with the same supervisor (wife).
Then I go off to work and tell everyone who wants a laugh that I'm in charge in my household.
My wife has performed many similar feats, I hope she does'nt gather more ideas from this site!

ROFL ... Mine does the exact same thing to my QS8s. I let her get away with it unless I am actually watching a movie. I do have to check the weight of any item she puts on the speaker.

I am sorry my friend but I had to laugh out loud on that... my wife is pretty good to me about stuff like this, but she does have this issue with wanting to sit a plant on one of my speakers. I think she does it just to be mean...

You guys are a bunch of wimps!

#1 - my wife knows how much everything cost (she's an accountant) and would NEVER risk ruining the cherry finish on the speakers just to make the house look "cute".

#2 - she also knows that speakers vibrate and fragile things don't like falling on the floor (but she knows the fragile things cost less than the speakers, see #1)

#3 - she also know that with three powered subs fragile knick knacks in other rooms fall off shelves. (and I love to turn the volume up to show off)

#4 - even before I had a dedicated home theater room my wife would dust and polish the speakers and treat them like the fine furniture they are (again, see #1)

#5 - She decorates her spaces for Christmas and leaves my areas alone. (Granted, my areas are measured in square inches where her's is measured in square feet)

Oh, and for you guys that say I'm either full of crap or haven't been married long enough........20 years of marriage with ground rules set down from the beginning. I've turned her into a audioholic the first time she heard surround sound in the house. She is now a master of the Pronto Pro.

Besides, my wife is into contemporary decor. The Department 56 stuff is only displayed in a small corner of the living room by the Christmas tree.

...but after recently celebrating my 35th year of OJT in the matter, I can authoritatively say that the above highlighted phrase and the word "wife" are mutually exclusive...there is no reason, there is no logic...you are wrong, have always been wrong, you will always be wrong. If by some remote chance it is mutually agreed upon that you may be right(usually signified not by any admission to that fact, but by a cold and profoundly disturbing silence) some time later a reason as to why you were most certainly, definitely wrong in the first place, will be uncovered, rendering the brief victory of your "right-ness" to be nil, null and void...

jimHJJ(...and they wonder why you walk away mumbling, seemingly incoherently...)

P.S. In all fairness, she knows not to muck about with the Hi-Fi, even if she does refer to my rack of gear as HAL...

Please. You guys have no idea. "A" plant on "one" speaker? Just look at this entertainment center. I'm about to sell my pool table, air hockey table, etc... and turn the finished basement into a real HT.
