Does Yamaha Have Fans In There Recievers

I have the Yamaha rx-v1400 and was listening to some music i like dance and rave i really like to listen to it in 6.1-7.1 but tonight i was listening just in two channel and as i was listening i wanted to trun it up so i did and listen as it got loader and loader i have a pair of old Technic speaker sb-a37 3 way four speaker rated at 220watts as well i have a Dahlquist subwoofer with its own amp. ????? was when i trun down the reciever i notice there was a fan going what is this fan where is the fan port to get the heat out i use to own a panasonic s-he 100 and it had a fan at the back for high volume.

Yes, the 1400 has a fan. It automatically activates when the temperature inside the receiver gets to a predefined point.

Just because the fan is running does not mean that you are overtaxing your receiver. It is designed such that the fan will come on during normal operation.

I am not familiar with your speakers but as long as their impedence is within the rating of the receiver, you shouldn't have a problem.

I've noticed that the fans on professional amplifiers have a nasty habit of becoming noisy over time. I've seen Onkyo receivers with fans as well. I hope they're not of the same type as professional amps that do get noisy. A noisy fan can easily be masked with these powerful amps, usually dishing out 500 watts per channel in a concert hall. But a consumer receiver with 100wpc may not be so successful, unless the fans are the noiseless type that will remain noiseless over time. Just my observation.

Yep it sure does, so does my RX-V1300, don't worry i have had my receiver for 2 1/2 years now and I have yet to hear the fan.
