I'm looking to install a smallish TV (32") on a wall arm, but for space considerations, I'd like to find a sound bar that can also be mounted on the arm, and a small (8"-10"max), wireless sub. Ideally, I'd like either the tv or the sound bar to include a dvd player and ability to stream from the web. Blueray is not a priority for this room... Okay, on a second thought, I can probably find room to place a separate dvd player since the cable box will make it necessary to have some shelving nearby. This is for my den, which is open to the kitchen. I'd like to be able to watch from either room. And of course, I'm on a budget (undefined, but low). Any suggestions? Your help will be appreciated.

Samsung makes a soundbar with a wireless sub, but you will have to figure out how to mount it on the arm with the TV. Mitsubishi I believe is now making flat panel TVs with a sort of built in sound bar w/simulated surround so that might be an option, but you'll have to add a sub yourself. My guess is the Mitsubishis won't be cheap because they are brand new; they are the Unisen line *edit and they also don't come smaller than 40".

I think one of your biggest issues is that sound bars tend to sound very weak and don't properly recreate 5 channel audio unless you are in the right room and they are setup properly. If you put the bar onto a swing arm, then everytimg you move the TV, you completely screw up the 5 channel sound and kill the entire reason for having the bar.

Instead you really should be going with a 2.1 stereo setup, or putting the money into some in-wall speakers in the right locations.

A 2.1 setup would be far more ideal as the stereo will track properly as you move the TV around on the arm, and it will allow your budget to accomodate some nicer speakers.

The TV itself is easy to get... Personally I would avoid LG. Samsung, Sharp, Sony I would take in a second over LG. Make sure to get a good swing arm, from a company like Chief or Peerless which supports the weight of the display with tons of excess.

What's wrong with LG ?? my 42" LG plasma (model in sig) works absolutely fine. They don't make plasmas less than 42" or it has to be lcd/led.

hmm... Didn't think of screwing up the surround settings of the soundbar every time it swings... good point. I guess a stereo sound bar would be acceptable, as I really don't need surround in that room. That kinda gives a 3.0, right? stressing the "kinda". What I'm looking is for a way of mounting it to the arm, or to the TV so they swing together. Can somebody recommend a wireless sub that is decent and not too expensive??
