My goal is to get a digital 480i signal into my iscan HD+ processor which only has a DVI input for digital sources. I do have the option of adding a SDI board to the processor and modding my DVD player to add a SDI output, but I dont want to spend all that cash so here is my idea.
Get a DVD player with an HDMI output. Output a 480i signal via HDMI because as far as I know that is possible. Then use a HDMI --->DVI cable to plug into my processors DVI input. Would this work?
I know that DVD players will not output a 480i signal over DVI, but does that mean a DVI cable can't carry a 480i signal?
