Does anyone test their cables?

When I installed my wiring I didn't and it caused me a problem. A subwoofer coax cable from what is considered a reputable vendor on here ended up being shorted. Since it was inner wall I had to remove my base boards and run a second one behind there since I had put up all my wall paneling already. Never aagain will I assume a cable is good when doing inner wall wiring.

Wow thats crazy.
What are the odds of the cable being bad AND being an inwall.

Test 'em before you run 'em

Well...I'm ashamed to say that I overlooked testing my HDMI cables before I installed them. After 4 hours of running 2 HDMI cables down inside the wall-under the floor-and back up inside a wall to the TV, a 35 foot run, I was extremely frustrated that the cables didn't work ! The cable was infact OK it was the terminal ends that did not seat deep enough into the receptical. The design of the terminal end was too large and hit the TV housing before it would seat into the socket. I had to spend an hour removing them so I could exchange them . When my new cables arrived the FIRST thing I did was test them BEFORE I ran them !!
