I am very interested in these speakers but noticed they are all 4 ohms impedance. I would like to do 5.1 for now and 7.1 later. What type of receiver or amp would I need to power these? Would a Denon AVR-3806 or Pioneer VSX-74 do it? What would be the most cost effective way to make these work or should I stick to 6-8 ohm speaker system?

Which Grand models are you considering? They really need separate amplification, mid-level receivers just won't cut it. What is your maximum budget at this point.

I know you are looking at the Magnolia HiFi stores. Check out there Primare separates or there receiver. If you want to look at them online go to sumikoaudio.net, then click on Primare. Also if you want something still very good, for a lot cheaper check out outlawaudio.com. What is the price range you are looking for in a receiver/amp? If you are looking to different speakers look at www.monitoraudio.com. Their Gold series G20's should be a similar price range for speakers. If you can, lookg at the G60's as well. Both are 6 ohm speakers. I would still look to get separate preamp and separate amp either way if affordable.

Looking at the Bach's for L,R
Theatro for Center
Waltz's for surrounds

Budget for Amp/Receiver $1500. Demonstration at Magnolia was those listed above using the Denon AVR-3805 w/Martin Logan Sub. Showed about 10 minutes of movie cranked up pretty good! AWESOME!
