Does anyone know what TVs accept 1080p?

Hey everyone, for many reasons I have decided that a DLP or LCD rear projection TV over 65" is what is perfect for my apartment. However, every review I see of most Samsung, Sony, and the like all say that they are 1080p televisions, yet do not accept 1080p sources. This really confuses me. Can anyone explain what this means and what TVs do accept 1080p signals? Thanks, this is all very confusing.

Tvs that display at 1080 but do not accept 1080p signals take the signal from a 1080p source and down rez them to 720 and then convert them back up to 1080. Some say this will cause a downgrade in the picture quality. Full 1080p sets accept a 1080p signal and pass it straight through since it is it's native resolution.

The only true 1080p sets I know of at the moment are a couple of HPs, a JVC (their version of LCoS called DILA) and a Westinghouse, I believe. Sony is coming out with several SXRD (their version of LCoS) units scattered over the next three months that are all 1080p with up to three HDMI inputs on them. Screen sizes are 50, 55, 60 and 70 inches. The JVC units are at 60 and 70 inches.

I believe the new Pioneer 1080p plasmas as well - which doesn't fit your bill. I would strongly consider the new 70" Sony SXRD (LCoS) after viewing rear projection DLP and LCD models in recent days. (see my other post)

Not exactly 'inexpensive' but you get true 1080p with 1080p support all the way through the system.

Don't the HP DLP TV's accept 1080p? I thought there were some new Samsung models that did too. I haven't researched the issue much though.
