Does anyone have a Denon DVM-2815?

I am considering this player. I currently have a Pioneer DVD-C503 five disk changer that is old and is not progressive. It looks good, but I figure things have probably improved in the last 4 or 5 years. I am wondering if anyone uses the Denon DVM-2815 and can tell me what they like / don't like about it. I am also considereing the Yammy DVD-C750. I don't own any SACDs or DVD Audio discs and don't really care much about the formats. I will be using the unit primarily for video ran directly to an Infocus Screenplay 4805 projecting on a 92" 16X9 Da-Lite high contrast screen. Thanks in advance!

If you don't care about the hi-res audio features, then the Denon 1815 is the same machine as the 2815 sans DVD-A for less money. Good picture quality and paired with a good receiver is a pretty nice unit. I had one for a while and though pleased with the output, was a little disappointed in the build quality and went with the 2900 instead. My gripe with the build quality was with the tray drawer being a little funky.

Mort,

Thanks for the info. I will look into that player instead if the rest of the specs are equal to the 2815.

I found there were quite a few problems with subtitles coming on and such with the 1815 and think I am going to go with the Denon 1910 instead. I wanted a good 5 disc player but think I will wait for changers to progress a bit.

I have the 1815 at home and have sold and installed several. It's a nice player. pic quality is very good. The build quality is as good as to be expected at the price. The 1910 is a pretty decent player if you want single disc. It has a DVI output (monitor must be HDCP). I haven't seen or heard of any trouble with the 1815.

Subtitles coming up? Never had that happen. Anyway, waiting for changers to come up to the single disk feature realm may be a long wait. Denon, at least, hasn't changed those units in a while and I doubt they will in the near future. The 2910 seems like a nice player but I thought you weren't interested in the hi-res audio?? IIRC, the 1910 uses the same chips and is just sans audio.
