Doe Pioneer offer Best Buy "versions" of their gear ??

I'm in the market for a new AVR and I'm looking at the Pioneer VSX-52 and talked to someone local also. Pioneer touts the Marvel QdeO video processing chip big time on their website.

However, when looking at Best Buy online I see they show the device as having the Anchor Bay chip. When I talked to a local authorized dealer they offered the same model, VSX-52, at a good price below MSRP and said it also had the Anchor Bay chip.

Does Pioneer offer two versions of the same model/equipment?

Not as far as I know. I've never seen them offer a line unique to a retailer.

The Insignia AVRs sold exclusively by Best Buy are built by Onkyo and Sherwood/Inkel...

Just my $0.02... ;)

I think your answer lies here: "The VSX-32 and higher models feature Marvell Qdeo video processing technology allowing for high quality video switching for superb clarity and accuracy."

I also ran across a review where the reviewer said it was the Anchor Bay processor but was corrected by someone in the comments (the author agreed with the correction as well).

Hope that helps.
