Do I need a new receiver?

Hey everyone,

I have a Kef Q400b sub, q600 center, q100 bookshelfs and I just bought two Q900 towers. I've been using a Yamaha RX-V577 receiver but with my new speakers I'm wondering if I should upgrade the receiver. I'm not too worried about power because I don't play my system that loudly but I want to optimize my sound quality. Do you guys have any suggestions? I'm definitely not an expert in home AV.

As far as speaker and receiver I'd say no. I'm sure your current receiver does a decent job driving those speakers.
The upgrade would be for a more advanced calibration system and Atmos, DTS:X for starters.

What would you expect to gain in changing avr? You need some features it doesn't have? Sound quality is much more about your speakers and room than the electronics. If anything I'd get a better sub but that may not make a difference to you. What do you use the system for? Movies? Music? Types of either?

as i can see your setup is 5.1, and your receiver can support 7 channel. Don't worry you have enough power for now.
