Do I have the right equipment?

I've been out of the audio scene a while and now I'm setting my basement up for a rec-room bar etc. My signature shows what I have currently for equipment. I want to run 4 speakers for music, I don't care about surround sound etc. My Pioneer Elite SC63 has 1 pre out and I have two 3 channel amps. I bought the receiver for TV use and now have a sound bar so I moved it to the basement for my stereo. It's basically just a pre-amp now because I have my amps to power the speakers. Since I have 1 pre out do I just split them with rca splitters for 4 channels or would I be better off just buying a pre amp with several pre outs if that exists? Sorry if this is a dumb question but researching this stuff makes my head hurt.

Yeah, now my head hurts too. What is it with 4 speakers for music. After all, it's not like you need sound reinforcement, unless you're planning on having bands come over to do gigs in your basement. Consider getting a center channel speaker and a sub for a nice 5.1 system, which will permit stereo, and multi-channel music pleasure with an appropriate prepro.

I read your post, rather than try to understand what you're trying to do, the simple thing here is suggest what I would do.

If this rec/room bar will have video for watching games, etc, you're best served for a 5.1 system, better yet 3.1 and not worry about rear speakers. Buy a modest 5.1 AVR with preouts and use your one of your (3)ch amps to power the speakers if you want...finally, buy a nice sub and enjoy your space.

am i missing something?

page 21 and 49 of the avr manual is all i needed to see.

i'm confused about having only 1 pre-out you mentioned, i see 11.

it looks like you can connect your four speakers to the the avr front left/right, surround left/right then choose one of the options on page 49.

if you want to use your amps, connect the avr pre-outs front left/right to the amp for the front speakers and the surround back left/right to the amp for the back speakers then choose an option on page 49.

make sure you set the center channel to off since you will not have a center speaker.

unless i looked at the wrong avr manual this is how i would do it.

i'm gonna try listening to music in 4 channel without a center speaker now just to see how that will be.
