Hi, i have narrowed my preerrences now but i just can seem to make up my mind?
1) Optoma H31/H27
2) Infocus 4805
3) Panasonic PT AE900

I just dont know what to choose. I dont know what to look for. all are good based or reviews and forums but which gives the best bang forthe buck? DLP are said to be better for Ht, but as for the review of the Panasonic LCD,"if you looking for a projector in the $2500-3000 bracket, this is somting to be on your list"

So as you see, i really dont know what to choose?
Pls help me!

For under $3K (USD) there are several others I would have on the list and the lower resolution H27/31 and 4805 would not be on the list. Perhaps the Mits HC3000 or maybe, if waiting, the new Optoma or Infocus HD projectors.

I like DLP, but the new LCD projectors are stunning for the money. The DLPs you listed should be about $1,000 though, far under your listed budget and you do get a lot more when you jump up to the 720p projectors like the AE900 or Sanyo Z4.

I'm leaning towards the Panny '900, myself. Perhaps with my tax refund...:)

According to me Infocus 4805 is a good option I tried searching for it ….and have got some good reviews……u can buy it at a retail price of $1499…….check this out!!! May be it can help!!!
Have no doubt, the 4805 is an excellent projector, but it is NOT an HD projector and has about half the resolution of the AE900, Z4, or HC3000 projectors. I think that is important to note.

The big plus? It looks very good and it comes in closer to $1,000 online at such places as VisualApex. I have seen factory refurbs for $500.00 as well. So, a GREAT price.

But, if you are going with a pretty serious theater, then I would get a more serious, longer term projector.

The new Infocus IN line should start shipping end of this QTR or beginning of next. The new Optoma H-72 should be a hot seller at $1999 msrp. I would choose these new PJ's over any of the 720p LCD's please see our CES coverage for more info. If you are purchasing now the VA deal for the AE900
Can’t be beat and is an outright steal

DLP or LCD Rear-Projection?

I kind of have the same question- except with a rear-projection big screen. My budget is about $2000 or less and I know that rear-projection is probably the best bang for my buck. However, how often does a bulb in a rear-projection need to be replaced?

720p is perfectly fine for me, although if I were extremely wealthy I would pick up an SXRD right now!! So, I would use this mainly for Xbox 360 and watching sports and DVD's. Which would be better for me? DLP or LCD rear projection?

Screenplay5000

I have also been laboring the DLP vs LCD issue. I have been seriously considering the Screenplay SP5000 by In-Focus. It is currently available from In-Focus for $999.00 with a free screen. Audioholics gave it a pretty good review but thought it to be a bit pricy at about $1,500 but at $999.00 with a 76" screen it seems like a pretty good deal. Any thoughts?
