Recently picked up a pair of DLK 3s that have Realistic 12" woofers. One is blown. Would like to replace both subwoofers - any suggestions?
It does not work that way. You need identical woofers. The Thiel/Small parameters must be identical or the bass will be miss tuned and either e boomy or absent. All speakers play at a different loudness with the same signal, depending on their sensitivity. If the sensitivity is higher, then the new woofer will play too loud compared to the other drivers. If it less sensitive the other drivers will be too loud.
Is the driver blown, or the foam just rotted. If foam is the problem, then refoam both drivers. If a driver is blown those speakers are done for.
