DIY Wedding and Home Theater upgrade

Hi,
I have a home theater system that's all wired right now, and I want to do some upgrades to it to make it wireless and add surround sound and subwoofer. I would not call myself an audiophile at all, but I like nice things that I can keep for a while.

What I have now (all bought on craigslist or hand-me-downs)
- Pioneer VS-92TXH receiver
- Klipsch Heresy front speakers (Heresy IIs I think?)
- Center speaker

I have a two-part goal for the upgrade

*Part 1*
Add subwoofer and additional speakers to provide audio for my wedding reception.

The subwoofer and Heresies would be for the small dance floor area upstairs. Based on this post (https://diyreception...nd-system-size/), with 130W per channel from the receiver and a small 30x30 low-ceiling dance floor, I think that will have good sound on the dance floor and quieter music so people can have conversations in the borders of the room and in the bar area in the next room.

I am looking for wireless speaker options for having some music in the dinner room downstairs and maybe small speakers for the bar area.

*Part 2*
Add the subwoofer to the home theater.
Convert those additional speakers into a wireless surround speakers in my home living room. Can't be wired because of the layout of the room.

*Questions*
- Does this sound reasonable to you guys for DIY reception music?
- Do I really need a subwoofer for dance music? Most of the kits I've seen do not have a subwoofer.
- I've seen the Rocketfish wireless system that can attach to the speaker output or and other wireless systems that attach to audio output lines. How well do those work?
- Is there some other solution I should be looking at? Ideally, budget would be under $1000.

Thanks in advance for your help!

You should hire a DJ. $1000 seems like reasonable budget for less than one day of work...

Yeah, certainly is reasonable budget, but I'd like to spend that much on more than a one-time fee to someone I will never see again.

Do you think that Heresies will put out enough sound for a small dance floor?

I think the Heresys will have enough power. You might want to figure out how to mount them up high. If you use them as floor speakers, keep them away from where people will be talking and try to keep any obstructions from blocking the path of the sound to the listeners. I would get them as high as possible. As for wireless speakers, I would be looking at wireless adapter kits instead, and get some good bookshelf speakers to put them on.

For wireless speakers you still need power cables, so keep that in mind. Sonos have some wireless speakers available.

I have some Pioneer Bookshelf SP-BS22-LR (Andrew Jones) connected to a Rocketfish wireless system in my home office, and it's amazingly pleasing when one considers the price paid. It would certainly do for a Bar area, Surrounds, or Dining room, but you may want to consider Andrew Jones' latest efforts at Elac (Debut B5s) for quite a few dollars more.

Best Buy USA has the Pioneers on sales right now for $90.99 a pair! So you need 3 pairs so check them out here:

I used to DJ and shadyJ's advice on getting the Heresy IIs up high is spot on for Dancing. They need to have the top of the Speakers at about 6 feet off the floor. (I am not kidding. Put them on tables 8 to 12 feet apart along a wall if possible.) Spend $500 on an SVS PB-1000 Sub, and you won't be disappointed with the overall result. (I'd love to get a PM with your feedback after the event. Of course equipment is one thing but it's really all about the tunes. ;))

So for $773 the speakers are sorted. You can probably find a Rocketfish (or equivalent) wireless receiver & Amplifier on Craigslist (or eBay) easily within the remainder of your budget $227.

I hope you have a happy, long, and prosperous marriage.
