just grabbed a panasonic th-37pwd5 (for free) i have some angle iron laying around and looked up a few diy mounts, anyone have any experience or tips? tv weighs in just over 50lbs.

I always come across scrap unistrut at work that I've often considered using for such projects..



One piece would be drilled and bolted flat on the wall. Another to the back of the television or whatever. They then interlock like sticking track together. Plenty strong and cheap if you can get it scrap from a fab shop. It also comes in perforated form so no drilling required. Just grab some washers. 3/8 or 1/4 inch fenders will do. Fab it up and Spray it up. Voila! :cool:

An important issue to consider is the length of the mounting bolts that go into the back of the TV.
You'll need spacers and the correct length bolt. You don't want them going too deep and damaging or shorting a circuit board.
