Hi everybody,

I bought a couple of 12" subwoofers that are 175W RMS and 750W PEAK

I read about the type of material to use for the box but im not sure yet which way to do it...

Im looking for the really deep bass sound like the nice low freauencies and so far to me it sounds like i need to make a sealed enclosre for the deep sound im looking for the other options i looked at are vented which my computer sub is and it sounds great, made by logitech or a Bandpass enclosure...

In addition I would like to use some sort of plastic so that you could see the subs i havent done any research on that yet soo feel free to give me advice on that as well
Also im thinking of using two 600 or so W amps instead of just one 1400W amp

which do you think would give my back a better masage:D

That depends? What are the other specs (as in T/S parameters) of your drivers?

T/S Parameters

When i measured, I was thinking about still maintaining some space for stuff like a bag or some thing of the sort so I measured what the smallest parameters were and thought i would use them as limiters

Height-13.5"

Width-35.5"

Depth-Well thats something im willing to negotiate

The manual with the subs came with specs for enclosures so it wont be a prob for me to build one

T/S parameters are measurements of the subwoofer and its sound output. You should be able to find them if you look up the make and model of you subwoofers. Without the T/S parameters, it will be hard for anyone to recommend a box type for you. Although, if all else fails go with a sealed box because they are the easiest to make.

That is not a good sign. This may not be a good woofer to use in that application.

What is the brand name of the sub, model number, and where did you buy it? Unless you purchased it from JCWhitney, it should have a name and model number.

Well, they don't fit anything offered on the Dual website. Is the foam surround extra large like their top model, or smaller? I wouldn't expect too much from a Dual. You'll get a tad better control with a sealed enclosure, but will need more power. With a vented enclosure, the driver will be much more efficient, but you need to be cautious about overdriving the sub. You'll fry that sub in a NY minute if you're not careful - especially with excess distortion. That sub should work fine in a car enclosure, but I'd be hesitant in building a home theater sub with those drivers. I'm sure the Fs parameters are well into the 30Hz range.
