Hi all,
i was wondering if there is anyone out there who could help me out with a problem regarding my DIY speakers.
I have connected an old car speaker (max 30w/ 6ohms) to a 12v /4-8 ohms amplifier: 180W 180W 2CH 12V Small Stereo High Power Amplifier FOR CD MP3 CAR Audio Home | eBay According to someone, the output of the amp is DC12VA which is technically 24 watts power output.
The speaker isn't that loud and i feel as if it can go way louder but i don't know what to do....
Should I power the amp with a higher voltage battery?
Need help...

Remember, car speakers are designed to operate in a much smaller area than one finds in homes. Also, if it's not properly baffled it could cut down on it's output as well.

But, I'm pretty sure that pumping more volts into that amp than it was designed for could call forth the harbinger of doom for that poor amp.
