The remote for my Yamaha RX-V2600 allows me to use GUI settings for prioritizing either "Presence Speakers" or "Rear Surrounds". I simply program "System Memories 1 and 2" and switch between them for the desired settings. I do this because, depending on program material, I want sometimes to use "Dialogue Lift" or the Rear Surrounds. To prioritize the Presence Speakers, I must engage Yamaha's DSP settings (Music, Movies or Entertainment. With that setting, dialogue is moved up to a more natural level on my 106" screen, and becomes much clearer than on the Front Centre speaker, which is just below the screen.
However, when I switch to this setting using "System Memory 1" on the remote, if there is music as well as Dialogue in the sound track, the mid-bass produces a form of audio distortion. If I switch to "System Memory 2", the same sound track does not produce this form of distortion -- but the Dialogue Lift feature of course disappears in favour of the GUI settings for the Rear Surrounds.
My use of programming the remote should have nothing to do with this distortion, and in fact appears if I program the two GUI settings without using the remote System Memories.
Has anyone experienced this form of distortion, which appears over the Presence Speakers, or can anyone explain what is going on and how I could get rid of the distortion?
Many thanks in advance. Nativeman
