I got a call from my local store to come in and look at the new Toshiba 72MX195 1080i dlp and initaially it looked good to me but I noticed some grain in the picture when the camera panned or any movement, the grainyness stayed still over the picture if that makes sense it was mildly annoying but I did not see notice it on still shots at all.
The screen was only 95 inches away from view,so not ideal (but what i,m working with at home)is that really too close? or I,m a particular person that "sees" this effect and should not buy a dlp?
After viewing the Mitsubishi ws73907 I saw it too.Same distance
I,m sure a exra 3 feet and it would possibly dissapear but its room I do not have and I,m wondering if a plasma would be best for me? I cannot perceive any flaws in any panels even close up.

Why must you go with a 70+" tv? Why not look at the 55-65" tv's?

Did you see the same issues with smaller displays?

Its not a requirement to have a 70inch tv,and no smaller tvs in the 42 inch range I could not detect any effects.
I think i,m just starting to like the plasma picture better and its a 50 panel size without the excuses.

Bit of follow up.
I was able to go see the sony Qualia and it was flawless,73" of nothing but deep blacks and perfect picture and not one silk screen effect Heaven.

Realistically I,m not going to drop 13k on a tv although someone else was.Lucky them.
They had 2 others set up a Hitachi 55hdx62 plasma and a Sony 50"sxrd grand wega.

I liked the Hitachi picture, certainly not as vivd as the Qualia, not even close but it retailed for $5500 so more in my range but after a year on the market has the game moved on?
Now the Sony, they only had the 50 inch SXRD set up so I aked to view it from 95 inches away and it was the best picture this side of 13K for me so far.
The colours were vivid and full, the only downside being just a slight sse effect.
If Sony would take care of that it would be a slam dunk, the retail price has dropped from 5k to $4200 so its definitely on my shortlist.
Are their any other panels anyone can suggest in the 50 65 inch range, thanks?
