DISH VIP722k receiver slow motion feature

I have read a number of online reviews of the DISH VIP722 DVR receiver, but no one except me seems to have had any problems with the slow motion features. I recently upgraded to the VIP722k from the VIP622, which I used for 3 years, to go along with my new HDTV. The slow motion features of the 722k are controlled the same as those of the 622, but they don't work properly. In the older model, positioning the recording in the desired place to begin viewing in slow motion was easy. In the 722k, prior to beginning slow motion advance, the receiver skips to a different place in the recording, usually 1 to 3 minutes earlier. Of course, this makes it next to impossible to view the part that you wanted to see in slow motion, because it would take at least 4 minutes for the recording to advance to the desired place. I have exchanged my receiver 2 times now, and so have tested 3 of this same model. All behave the same wayward way. It is very frustrating, and I am wondering whether others are seeing this problem, or whether it is specific to a new batch of receivers that haven't been out there long enough yet. I get no satisfaction from DISH technical support, because they don't seem to have encountered the problem before (or won't admit it), and all they can do is send me another one of the same model.

I have to see which one I have at home. I just got it last month; I believe it is a 722 and I have the same issue. You just have to rewind to a few seconds before and play to the right point, then pause and slow-mo.
