Simon Cowell who started "American Idol" had a new dream and last year he found, through casting firms throughout the world, 3 opera singers and 1 Pop signer to form a group to sing songs that Simon likes which is Pop songs and not classic opera.

The first piece recorded after 2 days they got together called "Unbreak My Heart" immediately became # 1 on the UK Billboard and did about the same in 17 countries.

The singers are:

- Carlos, a 38 year old opera Singer from Spain
- David, a 33 year old opera Singer from America
- Urs, a 35 year oild opera signer from Switzerland
- Sebastien, a 33 year old POP Singer from France.

I purchased their DVD "Encore" and simply adore the concept and voices for POP songs. In the documentary, Simon Cowell explains how he put this together and the singers tell us about their audition and their surprise of what is happening to them. Today, I'll be receiving the CD "Ancora" for more songs and I expect to order the Christmas songs CD later.

They are so good that:

Celine Dion recorded a song with them, which can be heard in the "Ancora" CD, and,
Barbra Streisand will have them as special guests in October for her concerts in New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Washington, Boston:

I did receive CD "Ancora" yesterday.

Not seeing them, like in the DVD, takes away the WOW...

Wish they had a DVD for "Ancora" but in the DVD "Encore" the documentary does include moments of the recording with Celine Dion.

Yeah, but then you would have to see Barbra Streisand.

I have Barbra's 1994 concert on DVD and it is awesome.

Tickets for the Montreal show on October 15 went on sale yesterday at 10:00 AM and by 11:00 AM, the Bell Center was sold out. BTW, got 4 tickets because of good connctions.

Local medias in Montreal never mentioned that Il Divo will be present as special guest so the excitement here is really because of Barbra Streisand.

But Sheep, seeing that "(you) could care less about them", from your previous post regarding Il Divo and now with the above, concerning Barbra Streisand, as we can read, it becomes clear that the kind of signers you appreciate may differ from mine and others, if indeed there are any out there that you may like!?

I have respect for Il Divo, because they are talented. But I don't personally like them, and If they stopped making music, yes, I could care less.

I like Bands, not singers. A singer is a part of a band. I enjoy the music, as well as the vocals, so I trend to refer to them as a group, rather then an artist. I don't know half the names of the bands members for the bands I like either. Once you start thinking of individuals, you forget the group.

I would be glad to give you a list of bands I like. If you like some of them, I can send you a burnt CD with some of their songs on it.
