Discontinuation of B&W CM Series?

Has anybody else heard anything about this? I just came from my mid-fi dealer yesterday (Myer Emco) and they are really discounting the CM series. The salesman stated it is probably because they are going to discontinue this series. Luckily, I have the DM604's. He said there are no plans on changing the 600 or 700 series. They also had the Nautilus 800 reduced to $8999 down from about $12,000. I'm sure you could haggle it lower if needed.

Which Meyer-Emco did you visit? I've been looking at possbily purchasing my B&W's from them. The wife will never allow me to spend that much on two speakers, but if they have any other deals...

They originally advertised it in the weekend section of the Washington Post last Friday for the CM series and the Friday a week before that for the 800 series.

Since I'm in Frederick I went to the on on Rt. 40 across from K-Mart. They also have a store in Gaithersburg near Criswell Chevrolet and one in Bethesda by Coleman Cadillac and Monkey Mall. The salesman in Frederick said it doesn't matter what store you purchase it from. If it's not in stock at one store but at another they will ship it around to your closest local Myer Emco.

I think the CM's were on sale for about $1300 or something like that. I got a pair of 604's from them on sale in February for $1250. The only real difference between the two is the DM's are front ported and not real wood veneer and the CM's are rear ported and have real veneer. Since my speakers have to be against a wall I had to go with the DM's.

Talk to Donnie if you call the Frederick store, he'll give any and all info needed for their different brands. He was quoting me LCR600 for about $430.

Could you ask him if the Whole 600 series and CM series are changing? That is awfully cheap for the LCR600.
Thanks! :)

No, there is no change on the 600 or 700 series. Just the 800 series (diamond tweeter thingy) and the probability of the dissappearance of the CM series. I still haven't seen anything in stone though for the CM's.

I could swear he told me something like $430 to $475 on the LCR600. I have the LCR6 S2 that I would be trading up from. I purchased it used and they have the one year trade up policy on any speaker that you buy. So, in a sense I will be paying about $330 since the $100 is already in the speaker bank.
