It starts to make kind of weird noise at 9-10mm excursion:( i thought it would do more.. i have purifi's Chinese clone which is deadsilent at 10mm xmax....... even at 11-13mm quite silent FREE AIR.....

Like why the fux is epiques xmax excursion destroyed by a chinese clone driver of purifi?? As it is epiques whole selling point....

Thats why i bought opal1, but disappointed now....

You are expecting too much. That is a 5.5" woofer with and Fs of 40 Hz.
So it will not produce deep bass. So you need to add a sub and cross it over at least by 60 Hz. I have looked at the T/S parameters of the driver,. If you want deep bass and the power you are looking for you need at least a 12" driver, or better 15".

If you drive and speaker at power below the Fs of the driver you will get what you have experienced. Basically the lowest frequency you can drive a woofer at power will be a bit above the Fs of the driver. Driving at power lower and you will get what you experienced. As 5.5" woofers go that one is among the best of the bunch.

You need big speakers and not puny ones.
