Hello, I have purchased a new home theater that is powered by the Yamaha HTR-5760. I was wondering if there are any disadvantages to not using the monitor out of this unit? I didn't have enough component and s-video cables to run every source to the reciever and have it output it to the tv, so i just hooked all the sources' video outputs straight to the tv and let the reciever handle the audio (of course). My question to all of you is whether or not this is hindering any synching or anything like that? I have watched a few dvds and played the xbox with this configuration and I cannot detect any synching problems or lack of surround sound. Is there a benefit to letting the reciever handle the video as well?

Thanks

Another minor disadvantage is that you'll need to execute more commands with more remote controls to acheive the same result.
