DirecTV RG-6 cable run question - are barrel connectors ok to use?

I am getting ready to run several RG-6 cable runs from my DirecTV dish to my receivers around the house. I have read that that runs should not have any breaks in them. I was wondering if having a splice (using and F style barrel connector) would have a true impact on what is really a digital signal? I know you don't want to split the signal, but what about just using 2 pieces of RG-6 versus one long one?

The truth is, even if I do one long run, I will still run the signal through a surge protector before I send it into the receiver. So there are going to be some additional connections just from that :(

Should be no problem at all. I mean, think about it... Typically, they go from the dish through your home to a wall plate. At the wall plate there is an F-connector that someone has to put some sort of piece of cable onto before running to the set top box.

It isn't recommended because there can be some small amount of signal loss across the F-connector and if it ever comes loose... behind drywall. Well, it's not exactly easy to get to.

If you can get to it, don't even think twice. If you can NOT get to the F-connector when you are done, then make sure you document exactly where that connection point is in case there is a problem down the road. I don't forcast any problems ever though.
