DirectTV HDTV PVR Options

Am I stuck with their hardware?

I really want to be able to get content off of the PVR. I have an extensive network in the house and am aching to be able to get content from the airwaves (satellite, too) to digital format for consumption in a variety of ways in my home.

I'll need two of them for two HD (and HD-capable) TVs.

Ideas?

I think you have to use their gear but a call to Direct would be your best bet on getting the correct answer.
