Dipole vs. Monopole for surrounds

Has anyone had direct experience with both types of speakers for surrounds and/or rears? I'd be interested in your preference and the reason, the type of speakers you use/used, and the size of your room. (It looks like I've gotten WAF to replace the 18 year old J350A JBL's I'm using as surrounds. Yea!) TIA.

I dont have comparison by experience, but the Axiom QS8 are awesome for movies and seem fine for music. The selection is recommended based on use as follows,

Mostly multi-channel music: Monopole
Mostly movies: Dipole, Bipole, Quadpole
