Well not much intro beyond the title. I have a 5.1 sapphire setup now so when I found TSC I was happy to learn I could find "matched" speakers to move up to 7.1, although they wouldn't have the same logo (yes that's lame).
So I found emotiva and was looking at their umc1 which I really like. I like the wall mounting plates and the fact you can go dipolar/biolar with them. To be honest, I don't know enough about the difference to make a decision up front and being able to toggle for best listening is a HUGE plus for me. I've heard to use diploar for rear and bipolar for sides (I think I read that in an audioholics article), but being able to switch is really a nice feature.
I have the small bookshelf sapphires for rears now and they do the trick, but like I said, I want 7.1 now. I would probably use these speakers for the rear side as they mount better (at least the emotivas).
Any opinions from you guys? TSC vs Emotivas? Should I use di/bipolars for sides or should I use them rears and use the small bookshelf speakers for side? Should I go for the gusto and get two sets for sides and rears?
