Digital Audio Cable - Generic or Name Brand?

I have to run about 15 ft of Coax for the digital audio out of my Cable/DVR box to my A/V receiver. Will I notice a difference between standard coax cable or the higher priced name brand stuff? I just purchased my Sony KDS-R50XBR1 HDTV and Denon 1920 DVD. The sales guy said that it wasn't worth spending the extra money on Monster coax to make the digital audio connection between my cable box and Denon receiver. I was shocked to hear that from a sales guy, since I am an amateur when it comes to A/V.

Thanks,

I'm shocked to hear it too but in this instance the sales guy gave you good advice.

That is shocking advice from a salesman. And it is the right advice. I hope you got his card and go to him the next time you need something, because he seems unusually honest. Of course, there is no guarantee that he will give the right advice next time, but he has already proven himself better than many. So do yourself (and him) a favor, and, seriously, go to him the next time you need to buy something.
