digital audio and dvi question

On a crt projection bigscreen, (55in) would a better picture come from DVI or COMPONET from the hdtv cable box? On a different note (might be a stupid question), but would it improve audio to run digital (coaxial or optical) sound directly to the tv from the cable box?(without a receiver)

It is generally believed that DVI is better than componesnt (which is better than s-video which is better than composite).
Yes it would be better to run digital cable vs. RCA. My cable box has both. But i run the digital cable to the receiver for home theater.
