Difficulty connecting a sub

My parents got me a new sub for my home theatre system, and my receiver has two RCA subwoofer outputs, but this amp has what looks like a single speaker wire and an S-video connection coming out of it. Is there anyway to connect the two? I read the forum, but wasn't really sure what I was looking for, and if you guys could help, it'd be really appreciated.

When you say "amp has what looks like a single speaker wire and an S-video connection coming out of it", do you mean the amp of the subwoofer or some other component? If you do mean the subwoofer amp then it sounds like you have some kind of proprietary connection meant to be hooked up to equiptment of the same brand.
