Dieter Burmester has passed away

The products of Mr. Burmester made me look at hi-fi in a totally new perspective, Burmester electronics and Audio Physic speakers provided musicality that I never even imagined possible, it was so good, so dynamic, so explosive it scared me so much I almost jumped out of the window... Fantastic experiences? youbetcha

Expensive? youbetcha .... good stuff? youbetcha

Never heard the name, but at $5k for power conditioner, how to say this - the man wasn't shy of using the opportunity to "optimize" income...

Of all high end electronics, Burmester was the most opulent to me. Here is a pic of some Burmester components, a couple of Burmster pre-amps and the $74k Burmester 909 on the bottom:

That amp is rated as stable down to 1 ohm, with output of a bridged channel at 3,200 watts for a 1 ohm load. Its a solid performer, and the nicest amplifier I have ever seen, however I wouldn't pay $74k for it.
