I am waiting for a long time for a new Yamaha High End receiver, but nothing... Do you think Yamaha will stop with the High End receiver line?

The Z9 doesn't have HDMI, and the latest dolby and DTS formats. Even the smaller receivers have more features than the Z9 today. They could incorporate these features with the great Pre/amplifier part. They should also maintain the RF LD decoder.

Have some patience.
My feeling is that Yamaha has been waiting for HDMI 1.3 to finally take hold before releasing what would be considered an overpriced stop-gap receiver.
My guess would be mid to late summer.
My personal wish is for separates. Most likely a pipe dream. At this point I don't need the amplification in a receiver. Heck the removal of the amp section should only add another 500 bucks to the price tag, right?

i wish they'd seperate video in to one box, audio processing in another, audio amp in a third. The amps are stable over time. the audio changes less frequently, the video changes every year. It's a joke that someone that bought a $5000 z-9 now has an obsolete receiver.
