Did I Make The Right Choice

I am interested in knowing whether any members have ever done business with audiophileliquadator.com. I have placed an order with them for a Yamaha RX-V659, however, the experience to date has me concerned due to the fact that I placed my order with them on the 04/26/2006 & to date I am unable to receive from them any indication when the item will be shipped. I am therefore very concerned that I might have made a severe mistake in doing business with them. Any & all comments will be greatly appreciated.

Daz3d&Confus3d,
Thanks for the response. They do have a phone its (877) 531-6100, however, whenever you call you can never get anyone to speak to you just constantly get a recording stating that they are away from their desk & you should leave a message which they never respond to. I received a recent e-mail message from them stating that the unit will be delivered next week; however, they are unable to say what day. Very strange don't you think! I will inform you all of the final outcome.

Hmmm... the joy of buying online with unauthorized retailers. I'd rather pay more and have a good unit/service with warranty and all.

Keep the story alive

Thanks for all the support & well wishes folks. I have what I consider good news they, have cancelled my order & will refund me 100% of my money at first they were threatening to charge me a 25% processing/restocking fee. I think this is a result of my last communication with them a copy of which is below.

Your order is being cancelled, we will refund you 100% of your purchase
price.

Quoting Stacey-Ann Boswell :

I am prepared to exercise FURTHER patience & reconsider canceling my
order under the following condition. That you furnish me with a
definite date next week for the shipping & that consecrated effort
is made to make it as early in the week as possible.
It should be noted that unless my order is shipped by Monday
05/08/2006 you will be in contravention of your own policy which
states "please read our web site for shipping policy, 3-4 business
day to process order and then your payment was for ground shipping, which is another 3 - 4 days, that is up to ups, so please be patient"
which indicate that your total turn around time is eight (8) days &
today makes seven (7) days since my order has been in the processing
stage.
Kindly let me have your prompt response so I can decide on the
course of action to take.
Regards,

I can now purchase this item from an authorized dealer & I will only say to all fellow members that my experience speaks for itself.

Whew you were very lucky volcar. Too often the buyer is ripped off never seeing his money and with no recourse. This is an all too common tale in the computer parts industry...fly by night outfits offer "too good to be true" prices...what is too good to be true is the money they get from people who wind up ripped off.
I would prefer to pay retail from a local reputable business. I may pay a bit more but I do have the product to show for my money.

Again, you are very fortunate.
Let us know the wwwww of your continuing purchase saga.

Kai thanks for the encouraging words & support, however, I am not yet out of the woods as they have promised to refund me 100% of my purchase but the funds are yet to appear on my Debit Card account which I used to make the purchase so I am keeping my fingers 9and toes) crossed & praying that the refund will actually happen as they say. One thing for sure I will never again make any purchase from any Web Site that’s not authorized by the Dealer of the product. I sincerely trust that all other members will learn from my almost fatal venture.

I use to work in the credit fraud industry, you never want to use your ATM or Debit card to order on the Internet it's like handing over a blank check. It is safest to use Services like paypal or a low limit credit card.

I do hope you get your money back.

There is a web site called resellerratings.com that had a lot of user comments about various internet sellers. I haven't used it for a while but did once when I bought some camera equipment a couple years ago - and it had a lot of good info on some of the sellers I was considering. I did try to look up your seller and noted they were not listed, but some others might be.

Unsure

I'm not quite sure whether you almost made a "fatal" error or not, but it seems that you fell like you did. I purchased a rather expensive projector from them several months ago. They called me immediately before charging my card to confirm the transaction. They then shipped the PJ overnight at no extra chagre, called me the day bvefore shipping to ensure I would be home, and called me the day of delivery to make sure it arrived. The PJ has been perfect with no issues. I saved $5000 on the deal. All in all, I thought that was pretty good customer service. I'm very satisfied.
