Just bought some new speakers and they've come without any cables. Anyone know what cables I need to purchase so I can attach them to either my hifi or amp? Any help is really appreciated!

You really need to post the speaker model and the model of your amp/hi-fi. If the speakers have either spring type connectors or binding posts on the back then any decent speaker wire will do. Home Depot sells some nice quality 12 gage speaker wire for a very reasonable cost.

You will run into problems if your speakers require proprietary connector types instead of just plain speaker wire. Some products like Bose acoustimass and Sony dream systems have special connectors at the end of the speaker wire If that is the case you will need to order that wire from the manufacturer.

Good luck

According to the KAM website, the amp has Speak-on and binding post connectors. Since it has binding posts, then you should be fine with some bare wire. Any good low resistance speaker cable should do (like 12ga or 10ga). Monster is a waste of money. A Roll of Sound King from Parts Express will work great.

BTW, your avatar is....disturbing.

Get some speaker wire at your electronics shop or DIY center (no Home Deopt over there, eh?). It's going to be two seperate wires moulded in the same cable. Cut it just a little longer than you need, split the ends apart as much as you need to attach the wires, strip the ends a few cm back, twist the ends tightly and insert into your connectors.
Be carefull not to have stray wires hanging out of the connectors.
Also, be certain that end you plug into the the red or + is the same on both ends. You don't want to have the wores crossed so it's + on one end and - on the other. it won't explode or anything but it won't sound great either.

This short article should be of some help. Though you don't need the exact items mentioned, it should give you an idea of what you need to do.
