That is a great article. The speakers, like all your components, should not "color" the music in any way. Neutrality is the ultimate goal. Only the music as originally recorded should be heard without any emphasis or de-emphasis on any frequencies. When I find that speaker, maybe I'll be happy.
That said, all those descriptors are still meaningless without a reference. I would love to sit down with someone who does reviews for a living and listen to speakers as they point out all these little nuances and colorations.
"Here that? That's sibilance. Here that? That's what we mean by spacious."
Because even after nearly 30 years, I still don't critically listen or understand what it is I'm looking for. I still go by my own taste, which might be wrong, or colored by misconception and poor perceptions. I'd like to be educated.
