Hey guys I have a few questions...
My system sounds great, currently consists of DEQ2496, hk3490 as preamp, QSC CX404 as amp and paradigm S8's.
The one problem I have is some of my 24 bit flac's have much more dynamic range than my mp3's (of course) therefore the 24 bit flacs sound much more quiet alot of the time.
I understand that I should be boosting my digital level for my flacs to get maximum resolution. But for my mp3s they will clip at a digital level on the DEQ then. I'm always tweaking my computer volume to get it to not clip for different types of media.
The AEQ in the 2496 found a 10db gap around 120hz in my room and is correcting for it, This is of course the cause of the issue.
If im lazy I can attenuate on my DEQ to reduce the level in, but I lose my extra resolution with 24 bit stuff.
Any suggestions on what to do? =/
