got a Denon AVR688 which i purchase 2 years ago, still in box. I moved recently and just purchased 2 x Klipsch Vf-36 speakers . Set up the AVR688 and connected speakers. Tried using my ipod with rca cable to feed audio inot the aux port with the aux imput selected on the receiver. Cannot get any audio out. I also tried using the ipod and aux ports at the back of the receiver. I used my computer connected to the aux port in frot and still not output to the speakers. I checked and verified all cabling. Looks to me to be a setting on the receiver. Any one encountered this before or know how to resolve?

That unit has the A and B speaker selector right on the front. Did you make sure A is selected and the red light is on? Oh also verify that the speakers are connected to the A terminals.

A selected, speakers are connected to A terminals.
I also tried to select B and connect to the B terminals.

What happens if you select the Tuner? Do you at least get static?

This may seem like an incredibly stupid question, but did you run the setup procedure the unit most likely requires?

I had the same situation with my 2802, whereby I didn't get a peep out of it, not even FM, until I went through the setup procedure. That was my initiation to the world of digital receivers.

Learn to love your manual.
