denon3805 and blu ray

I presently own a denon 3805 which does not have hdmi. Is the denon capable of 1080p. if i upgrade to the denon dbp 2012 can i connect it to the 3805 and still reap the benifits the reason for the 2012 are the 7.1 analolg connections. thanks for your help.

To avail oneself of 1080p, one needs HDMI. The best one can get via component video is 1080i.

Of course, you can always run the HDMI video directly to the TV. You can't pass the upgraded blu-ray sound through coaxial or toslink anyway.

If the 2012 has analog audio outputs and the 3805 has the corrosponding analog inputs, you CAN use that to pass the blu-ray audio to your receiver. That's what I do with my 2802
