Denon or Onkyo

I am looking to get a new receiver I have looked into the Denon avr-x4100w or the Onkyo tx-nr838 I have a 5.1 set up what one is better

Hi Welcome! I'm an Onkyo fan. I would get the previous model 818 model(was $1,000 No atmos, but the great audyssey xt32) here. The atmos is only if your running a 7.2? Is there any benefits on a 5.1. And what is the overall best receiver you can buy under $1300.

If my mom, dad, brothers, or sister asked me that, I would say "Denon" 100% of the time.

Yea I am going to go with denon the receiver. The one I have now is a pioneer that sucks.
