Denon or Onkyo???

<font color='#000000'>I am just getting into the SACD revolution and I need to up grade my tuner. I have a Kenwood VR-2080. I have been looking at the Denon avr-683 and the AVR-1603. I also have been looking at some of the Onkyo line as well. I am looking on some insight on which brand and model to buy. Mainly out the Onkyo's I have been looking at the TX-SR500 and TX-SR501. 5.1 channels is good enough I guess. allthough 6.1 would be nice. Mainly I just need a tuner with 5.1 inputs. Pro-Logic II is a must as well. DD-EX would be nice as well. I just dont wanna spend an arm and a leg. I really am looking for quality SACD sound. Most of the major brands just dont cut it (Sony JVC and Pioneer) I havent heard much good about these tuners so I have stayed away. Denon's and the Onkyo's have gotten the best reviews that I have seen anyway. I am leaning towards the Denon tuner though I just figured I would get a secound opinion from someone that knows more than I. I am open to look at other brands as well. Any input would be great

<font color='#000000'>I have a Denon AVR-1603 and there's a lot to like about it. &nbsp;It decodes all the 5.1 formats. &nbsp;It doesn't do the 6.1 and 7.1 formats, but right now there's little software in those formats, and how much of your living room do you want to give over to speakers, anyhow? &nbsp;With efficient speakers, it's excellent--I was shocked at the improvement in sound quality over my 9-year old Onkyo receiver. &nbsp;It's best with efficient speakers--my power-hungry NHT ST-4s are a little too much for it. &nbsp;It doesn't do video switching--if something comes into an S-video input, it can only be output on S-video as well. &nbsp;It has it's limitations, but for the price, I think it's a terrific piece of gear.</font>
