I have a pair of Denon mono blocks - POA 4400 - and vaguely remember the salesman (back in 92) telling me that if they were hooked to a denon preamp the power/stand by would automatically operate with the preamp. I ended up getting a Harmon/Kardon preamp instead, but am now looking for another pre, anyone heard or know how to hook up my mono blocks to auto power up?

Cheers.

if it has 12v triggers, you can buy just about any pre-amp with 12v triggers, like denon receivers 2809, 2808, 3808, 4308 and up, yamaha also has some receivers with 12v triggers ... what is your budget?

Ta!

Thanks for the quick reply, my mono blocks are currently being serviced, but i'm sure there the same as photo. Much appreciated, I understand the how and what i'm looking for now. I was hoping to keep the preamp around 500-800ish as there are some other bits I need to get, I posted another thread in the loudspeaker section labeled "Help matching new speakers to existing system." (not allowed to post a link yet)

again, thanks.

i wouldn't know much about speakers, but here's a list of receivers you should check out that's I think around 500-800USD depending on where you are:

Denon 2308CI (i think only the CI version has a 12v trigger)
Denon 2808
Denon 2309
Denon 2809
Yamaha RX-V663
Yamaha RX-V1800

@ Adam:

Thanks for your message.

I was trying to respond to the OP's original question. I found it by means of a search, which only showed the OP. After I posted the reply, I could see that there were indeed other posts, and that his query had been answered. So I deleted my post.

I tried to PM this to you, but as a new member I don't have that privilege.

Cheers

Welcome to the forum...again! :) Thanks for the note. I appreciate it.

Just curious - do you have the same amp? It sure looks like a nice one.

Welcome to the forum...again! :)
Thanks for making me feel welcome! :)

I have a pair of POA-6600's, and I am at the moment contemplating buying some POA-4400's. They have similar circuit topology, so I expect the same or similar performance from the '4400's.
