Denon & M&K Assistance Needed here.

So perhaps someone can help point me in the correct direction. Having a problem with deep clean based response. Current gear is Denon 3300, M&K LCR-750 for Left,Front and Right Center speakers with M&k K-4 Tripole speakers(2). The Sub-woofer is a M&K MX-125 MK II.

I've reset my Denon 3300(0 out the channels and set distance) and set everything back up from a recent move including balancing the channels via the Denon with my realistic sound meter in an 18x16 room. Gone through Chesky Audit tests, music and positional sounds appear to be correct and sounds great!

I have specifically on the sub settings dialed in the low pass filter on 75-80 and -3 on the based level

Problem is when I play DVD/BD movies, the base seems to "Galoop" in the heavy action rather than Rumble. Not sure when I moved if the settings got changed on the sub OR If I am missing something altogether.

Any recommendations on what to check?

I don't know what you mean by "galoop," but I gather that the bass sounds off to you. I wonder if it's due to the acoustics in your new room and where you have the subwoofer placed. I'm not familiar with the Chesky tests that you mentioned, but are there any frequency sweeps in those tests? You could play a set of tones over a range of frequencies (there are CDs available, but you can easily find and download those off of the internet) and use your SPL meter to record the sound level at each frequency. That can help you determine if you have any frequency ranges where you have a dip or bump compared to the other frequencies. I definitely get that in my room with my subs in the corners, but I use their built-in EQ to try and level it out. You can also try changing the phase setting on the sub to see if it makes any difference.

Thank Adam. yes I kinda thought the "Galoop" reference might get questioned but it was the best way I could describe it. Saying the word was more descriptive of the base sound. For an example. Its almost as if the base at times tends to be inverted when it should be booming. I'll take a look at the articles and refresh myself and see if something is off. Thanks.
