the Denon link feeds the DVD-audio (or will, once they finally get the licensing all straightened out) in a digital form all the way to the receiver, instead of converting it at the DVD player and sending it to the receiver in analog. the converters in the receiver will probably be better than those in the DVD player, so you will have some better resolution.

keep in mind the Denon link only works with Denon DVD players.

Actually currently it feed DVD-Audio, and is waiting on license for SACD.

And 2ch Redbook, DTS and DD, it carries everything but SACD. Among the current Denon lineup, the players with DL sound better with the analog outs anyway IMO, until a Denon receiver comes out that has a better digital/analog conversion, with the associated hardware that goes with it, the DL is more a convenience than anything else.

Also, that waiting for license has been going on for over 20 months, I would not make a purchase based on SACD over DL ever happening.
