DENON 5900 review
I had read all I could find on this new unit, compared to the Pioneer DV-59AVi it is 1000$ more expensive and not certain it has the extra value.
I also got very unlucky. My first unit had major freeze problem. But I dealt with a great local store and my unit was replace very rapidely by a new unit. I am using this unit with The SHARP XV-Z12000 projector DVI connected directly. I like this feature. I still need to finalize my calibration but the black appears not to be as dark whit the DVI connector then with the RGB.
Musically nice and smooth sound, but I don,t understand it doesn't paly some CD,s ( Micheal Bublé) won't play.
The set up menu is quite elaborate, even too compelx for my daily use, since I have the Denon playing on the new ANTHEM D1 Statement pro-preamp which is loaded with feature and up- bit conversion.
Ismore expensive the the Pioneer, but so far I have not been dissapointed, except for the first unit, by the way it is noted at the back this unit is manufactured in China.... this was a minus for me. AT this price it should have been made in Japan, and maybe it could have alleivated the defective unit in the first place.
Would I recommend it... ??? I have been a fan, of Denon for the past product, but this one is a slight draw back... try and listen to Pioneer ,Sorry Denon. Your unit is a bit pricey.
