I am newbie and looking for good dvd player. I have read review about denon dvd players and cannot decide what need to buy.
What is real benefit of DVD 3910 over his sister 2910? I use my HT system for 50% music and 50% movie.

Appreciate your advice.

Thanks

Although I haven't compared the two, most reviewers give top marks to the 3910 for both picture quality and music - 5 stars for both including redbook cd's, sacd and dvd-a, which is really something for a universal player at its price. While the 2910 is a great player, I would go for the 3910 if not only for the larger power supply. I have a Denon DVD-2900 (the superceded model for the 3910) it's built like a tank, used very frequently and has never let me down in the 18 mths I've had it. And it delivers wonderful sound - though I believe the 3910 does redbook cd's a little better. My 2 cents worth.

Technically, the 3910 replaces the 3800, but in reality is more closely related to the 2900.

I haven't tried either the 2910 or the 3910, but I have compared the 2200 and the 2900, and it is going to come down to whether you MUST have the better performance, or if you are just looking for a solid player and don't want to spend top dollar. The fact that you are asking means you already have a doubt that you need the 3910. My 2 cents - the 2200 gave me about 90% of the performance of the 2900 and I was never disappointed by the 2200. The 2900 gives me that extra 10%, and for the additional nearly 2x cost increase, I would not say it is really totally justified. Both the 2910 and 3910 have gotten excellent reviews, so I'd say either are going to do well.

Slim and multizones

Thanks a lot for quick responds. 2910 looks slimmer, which I like.
I have other question, both players are multizone (region-free ) supported? I may sound ignorant, but please laugh and give advice. Thanks

I don't think either is region free out of the box, but there are firmware updates for both that will make them region free, AFAIK.
